Philip Green Educational - Slide Set S46 - Weather
10 – A man crossing a main road on a foggy morning. A red traffic light and a car’s headlights can be seen. Fog is a large cloud that lies close to the ground. It is made up of tiny drops of water.
*Taken from the Teachers’ Notes for this set.
My favourite image from the whole set. I love the fleeting perfection of the composition – the man in full stride… foot just about to hit the ground, the different layers of objects – just beautiful!
It’s mood puts me in mind of Jack Vettriano – if Jack Vettriano stopped painting toffs & trollops, and started painting working class men of the 1970’s instead.

No, there's far too much to stage manage in that shot - and all at the mercy of traffic lights and vehicles too..?! Nooo, a lucky grab methinks - maybe using an early motor driven camera.

If you wake up before everyone else 'it' IS beautiful. It's once all the yobs & pikeys get out of bed it goes down hill...

Brilliant. D'you reckon it's posed? Check the arms of the guy on the right.
