The Energy Democracy Project

A plan to help transform the management of energy resources in Africa

Summary

Africa needs modular, renewable power – geothermal, wind, tidal, and solar energy production at the village and community level – now:

  • To help people to escape from poverty
  • To build businesses and communities
  • To adapt to climate change and make the continent more resilient
  • To stop climate change from getting worse globally

The project would have an initial three-year mission to help to transform the management of energy resources in Africa, working in three areas. The aim is to operate within established NGO, academic and small-to-medium-sized business networks with proven track records (to avoid reinventing the wheel, and to assure sustainability and value for money of the projects).

Crisis on Two Tuckers

Listening to Armando Iannucci talking to Benjamen Walker on WFMU’s ‘Too Much Information’ . Minor crossoverfest.

  • Malcolm Tucker existing in the parallel universes of ‘In Thick of It’ and ‘In The Loop’ (about 9:40 mins in).
  • A shoutout from Armando to Alan Moore for referencing a ‘Time Trumpet’ skit in LEG (about 37 mins in).

Now I want to see the Thick of It crossover special. The Silver Age Tucker teams up with Golden Age Malcolm, they travel to Earth Prime and defeat the Two Andrews (Rawnsley and Coulson) with their combined mastery of the black arts of spin.
